When I asked Delphine what her New Year’s resolution was last night while we soaked in the jacuzzi, she said, “I think I want to train for a marathon. Or maybe join a new yoga class. Hmmmm, maybe I’ll learn to make peppermint bark.”  Then she turned to me and asked what mine are. Oops, I guess I better give it some thought today!

When they say “addicting,” they aren’t kidding.

Hot Dog Bush is amazing.

In an effort to make a difference, Frank rallied the troops to head out to the front lines. Delphine was immediately on board when she found out Mr. Holmes, the art teacher, would be there too. “You should see the head of hair on that man, so shiny…” she sighed.

Frank was thrilled and had a sign making breakfast before hand. Nothing like creating a little camaraderie over paints and poster boards.

“Is that where the taco truck hangs out?” asked Fritz.  “Their veggie tacos are AMAZING.”

“It’s not about the tacos, Fritz.”

“Of course not, it’s also about the guacamole.”

My friend at school told me to leave my shoes outside tonight so you can bring me chocolate. I had no idea you did that!  I promise to leave you some milk and yogurt pretzels if you are hungry. Say hello to Lucky and Lessie, and let them know I’m happy about the little green leaves they put on the trees out front. I hope you find a new pot of gold tonight.

Yesterday Rex’s manager called with exciting news, “You have a job tomorrow. National spot. Be there at 5:30am, I’ll text the address…” Rex was so excited he rode his bike to the Santa Monica stairs, then hit a yoga class to make sure he was in prime condition.  Since his car is in the shop, Rex asked Fritz to drive him–Fritz LOVES studio lots.  Once there, Rex was whisked into wardrobe while Fritz waited outside, hoping to bump into anyone from Gossip Girl.  A few moments later, Rex emerged, and Fritz was thrilled to have his iPhone handy…

Rex’s agent didn’t lie, he just didn’t mention that this particular national spot was for a sandwich chain in need of a new mascot.  “This is NOT stunt work,” Rex explained to his agent on the phone, “you should SEE me…” Rex trailed off.  “Oh, I see. Well, that’s…uh huh…”  Fritz was dying to know what the agent was saying.  Rex hung up the phone.  “So?” asked Fritz.  “Apparently I’ll be hanging from a wire at some point, so technically it’s kinda stunt work…” Rex trailed off.

“They are paying you a ton of money and giving you a life supply of sandwiches, aren’t they?” asked Fritz.

“Yep,” sighed Rex.

“Dude, sweeeeeet. I love their veggie wraps. Now go kick some stunt booty while I try to find the Oprah set…”

Delphine has the stomach flu, Frank has a cold, and Rex has some unknown ailment (although Rex is a hypochondriac so you never know if he’s actually sick or not.)

Fritz has had enough, time to get tough and kick the rest of this cold and flu season in the booty. First things first, he makes sure he goes to bed early every night. Fritz also eats lots and lots of veggies and fruit, and eats soy yogurt to keep his probiotic count up.  Don’t forget vitamins! Every day Fritz takes a multivitamin and drinks his Emergen-C.

Although his friends make fun of him for washing his hands a million times a day, and wearing a scarf when he’s outside in the cold, Fritz doesn’t mind. Wanna know why?  While his friends are at home in bed, he’s out riding his scooter, playing at the park and going to tennis class. Unfortunately, it’s not as much fun without his friends, so he Skypes with them to cheer them up. Fritz even leaves a new “Twilight” poster in Delphine’s mailbox to make her smile.

“Of course! But can we get ice cream after?”

Frank loves ice cream, so he was thrilled at the suggestion.

After a long roller blade up the boardwalk, a ride on the ferris wheel, and a quick toe dip in the waves, the two friends hit Perry’s for an ice cream filled cookie sandwich.

Sitting at their table, looking out at the waves and enjoying their treat, the two felt so happy.

“Is there anything better than this?” asked Frank.

“Nope,” said Tiana, “I would say this is a perfect day.”

When he met Aurora, she was the perfect friend–she liked Pirate Booty, riding scooters, and watching Wizards. Rex and Aurora were inseparable.  Until one day, Rex went to work and Aurora was at the Craft Services table eating red vines with someone else.  Rex tried to be relaxed about it, but when he asked her to ride scooters at lunch, she said she had a meeting, “Maybe another time?”

“Sure, no problem…” said Rex.

But it was a problem–he had the new Johnny Test on Tivo and was hoping she’d come over after work for pizza. Rex was sad.

Just then his phone beeped and he had a text. It was Frank.

“Hey doooood, wanna hang out tonight and eat pizza?  I just got a screener of Tangled! I’m making brownies.”

Thank goodness for friends. It WAS going to be OK.
